Hidetoshi Yokoyama, the president of Robot Consulting Co., Ltd., Kazuya Maruyama, an attorney at law, and Lully Miura, an international political scientist, had a conversation about “Web 3.0 and Japanese Politics”.
Hidetoshi Yokoyama, the president of Robot Consulting Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo. President: Hidetoshi Yokoyama. Hereinafter “Robot Consulting”), Kazuya Maruyama, former politician and a lawyer, and Lully Miura, an international political scientist, exchanged views on Web 3.0 and Japanese politics.
In the dialogue, they discussed the legal challenges of Web 3.0, the state of international politics in Web 3.0, and how far Japan can go in competing with the world using generative AI.
Web 3.0 has been a hot topic lately. However, Maruyama pointed out that few people understand the essence of what Web 3.0 is. On the other hand, despite the current situation, the country has positioned Web 3.0 as a fundamental part of economic growth, and praised the fact that it is showing positive moves, such as launching a Web 3.0 project team.
Yokoyama also appreciated the fact that Japan is the only country that has adopted Web 3.0 as a policy while it is banned in major economic powers such as the U.S. and China. However, he also pointed out the fact that the lack of separate taxation of income is a major problem, as key people who are said to be the main players in Web 3.0 are not in Japan due to tax avoidance.
Miura also pointed out that while young people are the main users of technology, they are a minority in the population pyramid in Japan, where the birth rate is declining and the population is aging, and therefore, their voices have little influence and they do not have the ability to think about political issues in the first place.
In order to solve such political problems and social phenomena in a better direction, it is important to promote the penetration of metaverse and AI, and the “coexistence of ‘technology’ and ‘people’”, which is the theme of Robot Consulting, is essential for Japan in the future.
For a better future for Japan, we will continue to develop the latest AI and robotic technologies, including Robot Lawyer, in a variety of activities.
